Terms of Service

By using Kintide, you agree to these terms. They're written to be clear and fair — please read them. If something doesn't make sense, email us and we'll explain.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Kintide ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Kintide. By using the Service, you confirm you meet this requirement.

2. Description of Service

Kintide is a family calendar briefing service that connects to your Google Calendar and delivers daily schedule summaries via push notifications. The Service is provided as a progressive web application (PWA) and is currently in early access.

3. Your Account

You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@getkintide.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not use Kintide for commercial purposes, resell access, or use the Service to build a competing product.

4. Google Calendar Integration

Kintide accesses your Google Calendar data solely to generate your briefings. You authorize this access through Google OAuth. You can revoke this access at any time through your Google account settings, which will disable the Service.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your calendar data. Kintide generates briefings based on what's in your calendar — we are not responsible for missed events, incorrect times, or scheduling conflicts that originate in your calendar.

5. Push Notifications

The core value of Kintide is push notifications. You opt in to notifications during onboarding and can manage or disable them at any time in the app or your device settings. We are not responsible for notification delivery failures caused by your device settings, OS restrictions, or network issues.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
Use the Service to store or transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service

7. Service Availability

Kintide is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice where possible.

During early access, features may change, and the Service may experience downtime as we develop and improve it.

8. Intellectual Property

The Kintide name, logo, app design, and original content are owned by Kintide and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our branding without written permission.

Your calendar data belongs to you. We claim no ownership over the content of your Google Calendar.

9. Disclaimers

Kintide is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be free of errors, secure, or always available.

We are not responsible for decisions made based on briefings generated by Kintide. Always verify important events directly in your calendar.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kintide shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, missed appointments, or loss of profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim (which, for a free service, is $0).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kintide from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

12. Termination

You may stop using Kintide at any time and request account deletion by emailing hello@getkintide.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably practical.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (disclaimers, limitation of liability, etc.) will continue to apply.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of Kintide after changes constitutes acceptance.
